Home-grown hero ‘Constable Sprout’ needs a new identity!

by Cathy Sheel

Budding young artists have been asked to put their talents to the test and come up with an identity for Incredible Edible Knowsley’s latest home-grown hero.

The charity’s fun drawing competition asks youngsters (of any age!) to come up with a face and new name for Constable Sprout – with a chance to win a prize of a £30 gift voucher.

The Constable Sprout drawing competition has ‘grown’ from a partnership between growing charity Incredible Edible Knowsley and local Community Interest Company Artsgroupie. The organisations have joined forces to create a new project called Horti-Culture – combining growing from soil to fork with the arts, including story-telling, drawing, writing, blogging and much more.

Horti-Culture HQ is based at Court Hey Park, Huyton and this is also is the headquarters for inspector Hogarth and Constable Sprout – P.Is – plant investigators. As the project progresses the pair will be asking local young people to help them solve cases.

But before they can get started Constable Sprout needs a new name and a face! There will be two prizes – each worth £30 – for the winning face and name.

All you have to do is take a picture of your creation and email it to: karen.mower@knowsleycommunityhub.co.uk or artsgroupie@outlook.com – or send to Incredible Edible Knowsley, Court Hey Park, Huyton L16 3NA before 18 December.
