Plans are underway to improve the condition of the roads across Knowsley.
The works will take place across all types of road in the borough including residential roads and key routes across the borough with potholes also being addressed. These essential works will help to maintain and improve Knowsley’s roads for the long-term, and is a welcomed one off investment opportunity
The new one off £2.4m funding package from central Government’s Department for Transport and the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority is in addition to the council’s annual plan for investment in highways. Knowsley Council officers are currently planning the additional works to commence as soon as possible to get the maximum benefit before the winter period.
Further information will be announced shortly, when the work programme is confirmed, but residents are asked to look out for updates on Knowsley News.
Cllr Tony Brennan, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, said: “Thanks to new funding opportunities we are able to carry out essential road works in areas of Knowsley that need it most. While we understand these upcoming roadworks may cause disruption they will be of huge benefit to us in the long-term.”
