Could you help to prevent breast cancer in Knowsley?

by Gemma Melling

The national charity, Breast Cancer UK, is looking for someone in Knowsley to become one of its Ambassadors and help women in the borough reduce their risk of breast cancer.

The charity is recruiting Ambassadors across the country – people who believe that prevention is better than cure and who are keen to get out into their local communities to make people more aware of the risk factors and share simple ways to lead a healthier life.  There is no need to be medically trained, as the aim is not to advise people about the symptoms or treatment of breast cancer.

Breast Cancer UK will provide full training about recognised risk factors, including diet, alcohol and lack of exercise as well as environmental risk factors from exposure to certain harmful chemicals.

The Ambassador will also receive help on how to organize prevention talks and events.

If you would like to apply please register your interest on the Breast Cancer UK website
