Could you help people get more involved in their community?

by Laura Johnston

Could you help local people access groups and activities in the communities of Northwood, Swanside and Halewood? If so, why not get involved with our volunteer Community Navigator Project.

As a Community Navigator you will help local people – who may be experiencing loneliness and isolation – join in with community groups and activities, with the aim of boosting their health and wellbeing and improving their quality of life.

The scheme is looking for people over 18 who have good local knowledge, excellent listening skills and are keen to help people engage with their communities. In return you will receive training, support, out of pocket expenses and a great volunteering experience which will build skills and employability.

Anyone interested in getting involved or finding out more can contact Leanne on 07840 172440 or email admin@innovatevolunteering.co.uk

Innovate Volunteering C.I.C has been commissioned by the Council to deliver the Community Navigator Pilot project in Northwood, Swanside and Halewood. If successful, the scheme will be extended to other areas of the borough.

The next training course for volunteers is on 11, 12, 18, and 19 January 10am – 2.30pm.
