There are many opportunities to Knowsley young people when they leave secondary school. Whether it be A Levels, BTECs, T Levels or apprenticeships, there’s many options to choose from.
Heidi Cunningham decided to apply for an apprenticeship when she left school and has recently completed the first year of her apprenticeship as a Facilities Management Assistant with Livv Housing Group, based at Lakeview in Prescot.
Heidi said “I considered all of the options when deciding on what to do when I left school, but I wanted to do an apprenticeship because it was a way of learning while earning money. It’s also a different learning environment to school.
“Being an apprentice gives me the experience and skills I need for my future career and hopefully secure full-time employment at the end of my apprenticeship.
“I would definitely recommend an apprenticeship because it gives you an insight into future working in a chosen field. It also allows me to gain qualifications whilst gaining invaluable and practical work experience, helping to develop my skills and confidence.
“My long-term career aspirations would be to stay at Livv Housing Group and progress my career here.”
