Have your say on the future of the café building at Mill Dam Park, Kirkby

by Cathy Sheel

There’s still time for you to share your views on the future use of the former café building at Mill Dam Park.

The council is asking people to share their ideas and aspirations for the building’s future use.

The building is located in Mill Dam Park – the borough park for the Kirkby community which is an important green space to communities in the area, providing a range of facilities including a large play area, angling lake, wetlands, woodlands, informal football pitch and path network.

The building was built by Knowsley Council in 2021 utilising grant funding and developer contributions, following community engagement and consultation that showed the community wished to have public toilet facilities, café facilities and events and activities within Mill Dam Park.

You can help to shape the future of this building by completing a short online questionnaire here. A number of questions are also asked about the park generally which will help support any further park improvements should external funding become available in the future. .

You can also request a hard copy of the questionnaire by emailing ess.enquiries@knowsley.gov.uk

Please share your views before 31 January 2026.
