Knowsley’s population is growing and this is expected to continue due to natural growth in the population and the new housing developments currently underway and planned across the borough.
To ensure Knowsley can meet the future demand for school places which the increase in the local population will bring over the next 10 years a draft School Organisation Strategy (KSOS) has been developed and we would like your views on the proposals.
Over the lifetime of the strategy, it is predicted there will be an additional 2,140 school age children living in Knowsley as a result of population and housing growth.
We would like your views on the vision, principles, the approach to school place planning and the models for school organisation contained in the draft document.
A Knowsley Council spokesperson, said:
“We want to give Knowsley’s children the best possible start by making sure every Knowsley child has access to a great school or academy in the borough. The draft School Organisation Strategy has been developed to ensure the demand for future school places by parents in Knowsley will continue to be met fairly and with high quality school places as the local population grows. I’d like to encourage you to have your say on the proposals by completing the consultation on the draft strategy.”
Aligned with Knowsley Better Together the draft strategy has been developed in collaboration with school leaders. Now the views of partners, parents and members of the wider local community are being sought through an online consultation about the draft document from Wednesday 15 May to Friday 31 May.
