Have Your Say on improving housing standards and tackling fuel poverty

by Jonathan Kearney

Residents across the borough are encouraged to have their say on a new Private Sector Housing and Affordable Warmth Strategy for Knowsley.

The consultation will run until Friday 13 March 2026.

The proposed new Strategy will run over five years and seeks to improve housing standards and tackle fuel poverty across the borough.  While the Strategy has a focus on private sector homes, it will also involve working with Registered Providers of social housing so all Knowsley residents have homes which are safe, warm and energy efficient.

The Strategy focuses on three key priorities for the Council and its partners which include:

  • Priority One – Improving housing standards, accessible homes, having energy efficient and low carbon homes and Affordable Warmth
  • Priority Two – A high quality private rented sector
  • Priority Three – Making Best Use of the Housing Stock
