Have your say on a plan which outlines how Knowsley’s adult social care services will deal with the coronavirus pandemic and be transformed in the years to come.
The draft Knowsley Adult Social Care Recovery and Transformation plan 2020-2023 details how services will be developed over the next three years to best meet the care needs of Knowsley’s most vulnerable adults.
The vision set out in the plan aims to support people to live independently as much as possible, while providing high quality care where needed. Five key priorities and actions have been identified in order to achieve this vision.
Community assets – supporting and growing the community and voluntary sector so that they can continue to help to support people’s care needs.
Digital connectivity – helping more people to access technology, such as Telecare aids, to support their care needs.
Person-centred care – increasing choice and control for people so care services better meet people’s individual needs.
Maintaining the market – helping to shape and support a strong, stable and flexible local care market.
Ensuring safe and quality services – improving safeguarding and the quality of the care workforce, as well as improving the health and wellbeing of people with care needs.

Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care Cllr Sean Donnelly said: “The Adult Social Care Recovery and Transformation Plan 2020-2023 builds upon the success of our previous Transformation Plan and continues to focus on supporting people to live as independently as possible. Clearly the coronavirus pandemic has led to changes in the need for services as well as how we deliver these services. These changes have also been reflected in the plan as they might be around for some time as we continue to understand the full impact of the pandemic across the care sector.”
