First annual Green GB Week celebrates clean growth

One of Knowsley’s best loved landmarks will be going green to help start a conversation about the benefits that ‘clean growth’ can bring to our society.

The Greystone Bridge over the M62 at Huyton will be illuminated in green from today (16 October) to Thursday (18 October) to mark the first annual ‘Green GB Week’.

What is Green GB Week?

Green GB Week

Green GB week is a chance to explore some of the ways clean growth is helping to provide new job opportunities, grow our economy and help tackle climate change in order to build a cleaner, greener future for the UK.

Across the country, a week of events and activities will bring together businesses, schools, colleges, universities, community groups, and charities to explore how clean growth will shape our futures.

For its first year, Green GB week focuses on celebrating UK leadership on climate change, marking the 10-year anniversary of the Climate Change Act, while highlighting the benefits of clean growth to businesses and providing a platform for the latest research on the impacts of climate change.
