It’s really important that if you have any of the COVID-19 symptoms, that you stay at home and book a test. Members of your household also need to stay at home until your test result comes back.
- High temperature
- New or persistent cough
- Loss of taste or smell
You can book a test through www.nhs.uk/coronavirus or by ringing 119. Knowsley has a range of local testing facilities in the Borough, including the mobile testing units and the local test sites in Huyton (opposite Huyton Library) and in Kirkby (on Cherryfield Drive) – appointments are needed in advance so please don’t attend if you don’t have an appointment.
Cllr Sean Donnelly, Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care, said “It’s so important to get tested if you have symptoms so that you aren’t transmitting the virus to others. We all need to play our part to stop the spread of the virus by embedding a few simple steps into our daily routine, getting tested if we display symptoms and self-isolating where appropriate. By all working together, we can get our infection rates down and hopefully then get back to some sort of normality.”
You can help to stop the spread of the virus by:-
- Staying at home if you have symptoms and book a test
- Limit interactions with others
- Maintain a 2m distance between you and others
- Wear a face covering where advised
- If you can work from home, you should
- Carry a tissue to catch coughs and sneezes
