Golf fans wanted!

Now is a great time to take up a new hobby and meet new friends with Stockbridge Village Golf Society.

Stockbridge Village Golf Society was established in 1984 when a group of Stockbridge Village residents came up with the idea over a few drinks at a local pub.

The society was a hit straight away and had 40 regular members with a waiting list of eager golfers. Unfortunately, over the years, the number of members has been reducing. This is why the members of Stockbridge Village Golf Society are appealing for new members – to keep their much-loved society going and to continue making new friends with similar interests.

Members do more together than play golf; the group organises social events such as a captain’s dinner where some members are awarded trophies. There is also the opportunity to join the committee, with positions including secretary, handicap secretary, treasurer and captain.

The society goes to Hoylake Municipal for practice and accepts members over 16-years-old. Members are men, however, women are not left out and are welcome to join the ladies team at Hoylake.

You do not have to live in Stockbridge Village to be a member – the society welcomes golfers from all areas.

Membership is £65 a year which runs from and to March so if you’re interested, now is the best time to join.
