If you planning to visit one of our SMART testing centres for those not experiencing symptoms, it is important you check how busy it is before you travel.
Knowsley currently has one of the highest rates of infection, with 1,407.9 cases per 100,000 population on 9 January. We know that COVID-19 is easily transmitted from person to person and so it is vital that we avoid large numbers of people at test centres and queues.
You can check where your nearest test centre is in the Liverpool City Region and find out how busy it is using the online interactive NHS map https://liverpool.maps.test-and-trace.nhs.uk/findatestcenter.html
SMART testing identifies people who have the virus, but do not have symptoms, so that importantly they can self-isolate and stop (unknowingly) passing the virus on to others.
There are five test centres across Knowsley. The three main sites are open 7 days a week and the other two pop sites are open on specific days of the week.
These sites are open to the public from 9am-6pm Monday to Friday and 10am-4pm Saturday and Sunday. School staff can access testing during a priority hour from 8am-9am.
