The new Morrisons superstore is now a prominent feature in Kirkby Town Centre, as progress continues to be made on the new retail development.
The new 45,000 feet2 store, along with a petrol station, has now been handed over to Morrisons for their internal fit-out.
Morrisons has also advertised a number of posts for their new store. Ranging from Front of House Team Leaders, a Meat and Fish Manager, and a Customer Service Manager, the closing dates range up to 5 July 2021. Further information can be found on the Morrisons website.
Already, KFC have started work on their internal-fit out and have recruited 50 members of their team – 32 of whom will be Knowsley residents. The drive-through window and driveway are almost complete.
Taco Bell has also started their recruitment drive and are advertising for Food Champion Team Members to join their new Kirkby outlet. Further details regarding the vacancies, as well as the support available to residents in helping them to complete their applications, can be found here. There’s still time to apply as the closing date is today (29 June 2021).
Work on the Home Bargains store is also progressing to plan and they are due to start their internal fit-out shortly.
Councillor Tony Brennan, Knowsley Council’s Regeneration and Economic Development Cabinet Member, said: “I am impressed, and incredibly proud, at the progress that has been made at this site.
“We know that our residents want a supermarket in the heart of the town centre and that is exactly what we are delivering. I know that people said that they would believe it when they see it. You can now certainly see it! You cannot fail to be impressed with how this development has progressed.
“I look forward to the stores opening their doors and I will be one of the first customers.”
