Friends of Bowring Park has received a £5,000 donation from the Amazon fulfilment centre in Knowsley, helping to support the group’s ongoing work to enhance and protect one of the area’s most valued green spaces.
The donation will help Friends of Bowring Park, working alongside Grow, to continue transforming one of Knowsley’s most important community spaces through projects that bring people together, improve wellbeing and make the park an even better place for local people to enjoy.
Tom Allen, Site Leader at the Amazon fulfilment centre in Knowsley, said: “Community groups like this play a vital role in bringing people together and caring for local spaces. We’re proud to be supporting Friends of Bowring Park with this donation and we hope this funding helps the charity continue its fantastic work for the benefit of the whole community.”
Friends of Bowring Park is a volunteer-led community group that works alongside Grow to preserve and improve Bowring Park, delivering projects that promote sustainability, biodiversity and community engagement for Knowsley and beyond.
The funding is another example of how businesses are choosing to invest in Bowring Park, helping turn corporate social value commitments into real projects that local people can see and benefit from.
Helen Paton, from Friends of Bowring Park, added: “We’re incredibly grateful to Amazon in Knowsley for this donation. It will help us continue improving Bowring Park by supporting projects that make the park a better place for local people, families and community groups.
“Amazon’s support shows what’s possible when businesses invest in the communities around them. Through Friends of Bowring and Grow, organisations are being connected with projects at Bowring Park that deliver genuine, measurable social value while creating lasting benefits for local people.”
