by Jonathan Kearney

Knowsley’s Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme for summer 2022 has now launched.

Children and young people across the borough can once again look forward to a range of FREE healthy activities throughout the school summer holidays as part of the programme delivered by Knowsley SNAP.

Thousands of free activity places are now available to book at venues across the borough.

You can find more information about the activity sessions on the One Knowsley website.

Cllr Margaret Harvey, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said: “Sessions will be taking place throughout the summer holidays to keep children and young people active and entertained. The range of different activities means there will be something to suit everyone.”

Cllr Shelley Powell, Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods, said: “These free activities during the summer holidays will be invaluable to many families at a time when the cost of living is having a real impact. Having attended a number of the sessions previously I’ve seen first hand how much children and young people get out of them and what a positive impact they can have.”

Racheal Jones, CEO of One Knowsley, said: “One again we have an incredible cohort from the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector coming together to work with us to deliver an enriching and accessible programme of sport, nutrition and active play this summer.  I am delighted to see again the collaboration within our sector to respond to this call to action.”
