Children and young people across Knowsley will be able to access FREE activities during the Christmas break.
The Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme, delivered by Knowsley SNAP, will provide thousands of free activities across the borough.
Parents and carers will shortly receive a voucher code to redeem against HAF funded schemes directly from each child’s school. They will then be able to book onto events using a dedicated booking system.
Highlights from this year’s winter HAF programme will include traditional festive events and activities, retro gaming and Lego workshops.
Activities will take place on 21, 22, 27, 28 and 29 December and from 2 to 5 January 2024.
Details of the activities, how to book a place and what to do if you haven’t had a voucher, can be found here.
Over 18,000 free HAF activity places were accessed by children and young people in Knowsley during the summer, with the uptake far exceeding the national average.
Cllr Margaret Harvey, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said: “The HAF programme in Knowsley continues to go from strength to strength and I’m delighted to see it return over the Christmas period. We know from feedback from parents, carers and the children themselves that the programme is having a really positive impact on their lives.”
Cllr Shelley Powell, Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods, said: “Having visited many of the HAF activities in Knowsley I know what a benefit they can have on the children taking part and their families. I’m sure the children and young people participating can look forward to a range of fun activities during the Christmas period.”
