Free gardening workshops with the Knowsley Flower Show Committee

by Guy Murphy

Knowsley residents are invited to take part in FREE gardening workshops and pick up some hand tips about gardening and growing.

Taking place on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 October from 12pm-4pm at Court Hey Park, L16 3NA, budding horticulturalists can have a go at planting seeds and young winter plants which they can then take home.

Attendees will learn how gardening and spending time in the garden can boost mental health and wellbeing and relieve stress and anxiety not forgetting improving physical health.

There is also an opportunity to explore the rich history of the show as the committee’s pop up National Heritage Lottery Fund exhibition will be on site.

Attendees are also invited to take a visit around the wonderful Incredible Edibles site and see first hand the growing experience.

Sadly, the Knowsley Flower Show has hasn’t been held since 2019 but it is back next year and taking place on Saturday 6 August for Feelgood Festival and Sunday 7 August 2022 Knowsley Flower Show.

By taking part in these open days and learning the first steps to the art of gardening and growing you might even become exhibitors in the show yourselves! Attendees can also joining the organising team of the Knowsley Flower Show and learn the benefits of becoming a valued volunteer and helping to plan the borough’s flagship event.

This event is open to anyone and everyone – children and young people are particularly encouraged to come along but please book your place by contacting Katy McLoughlin on
