Free activities for children and young people this half term

by Jonathan Kearney

Children and young people across Knowsley can access free activity places during the forthcoming half term break.

Activities sessions will be taking place across the borough between 29 May and 2 June and between 5 and 9 June.

Supported by Knowsley Council’s Hardship Fund and the Government’s Household Support Grant, sessions will be delivered by a variety of provider as part of the Knowsley SNAP programme.

Administered by One Knowsley in partnership with Knowsley Council, the free activity sessions will also include a healthy meal for participants.

Cllr Margaret Harvey, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said: “There will be a variety of activities to access so I’d encourage people to book a session. With so much going on there’s bound to be an activity to suit everyone and I’m sure the children and young people taking part will really benefit.”

Cllr Shelley Powell, Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods, said: “These free activity sessions are a huge boost for families and the children and young people taking part during the school break. Many of the activities will expose people to completely new experiences and I’m sure they’ll have plenty of fun taking part.”

You can find more about the free activities, including information on how to book, on the One Knowsley website.
