by Jonathan Kearney

Children and young people across Knowsley can once again look forward to a range of FREE healthy activities throughout the summer holidays as part of the Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme.

Thousands of HAF places will be accessible across the borough, with activities offered by a variety of different providers.

The HAF programme, delivered by Knowsley SNAP, offer a wide range of free activities, with a meal included as part of each session.

Activities will take place between Monday 22 July and Friday 30 August.

The programme is designed to provide opportunities for children and young people who are eligible for means-tested free school meals.

All eligible families will be issued vouchers containing a booking link so they can choose which activities they would like to attend.

You can find details of the full programme, including how to book and a map showing activity locations, on the One Knowsley website.

Cllr David Lonergan, Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said: “Young people across the borough will be able to take advantage of a variety of engaging free activities on offer during the summer holidays. Many of these activities may not have been accessible to the children and young people taking part so it’s a fantastic opportunity.”

Cllr Shelley Powell, Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods, said: “Children and young people in Knowsley have been able to take advantage of some fantastic opportunities by taking part in the HAF programme and I know families really appreciate the support. Very often the activities offer completely new experiences which I’m sure will create lasting memories.”
