Ford Philanthropy Investment Supports Knowsley Community Project

by Lisa Bennett

L14 Community House, a community organisation in Knowsley will benefit from new funding thanks to an investment from Ford Philanthropy.

Announced at a special event in Halewood on Friday 25 September, the investment aims to support local people and help create lasting positive change in Knowsley and across the wider Liverpool City Region.

The funding will strengthen the valuable work L14 Community House already delivers in the Page Moss community including carers groups, employment support, pensioners support groups, sports clubs, youth clubs and much more.

Cllr Tony Brennan, Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, joined partners and guests at Ford Halewood to share how the funding will make a difference to local residents.

He commented: “Our voluntary and community organisations play a vital role in supporting residents and improving lives across Knowsley. It’s fantastic to see Ford Philanthropy investing in local organisations that are making a real difference in our communities.”

Visitors also had the opportunity to take part in a tour of the Halwood plant and hear first-hand about the impact these organisations are having on local families, young people and communities.

“Ford has always been part of its communities, with a strong spirit of partnership and ambition,” said Antonia Gogolin, Senior Manager of Ford Philanthropy Europe. “We were delighted to invite local nonprofit partners to the Halewood plant for a tour and to hear first-hand about the difference they’re making in people’s lives. We also valued the opportunity to discuss the community’s needs and opportunities with representatives from Knowsley Council and the Lord Mayor of Liverpool. We’re proud to support this work and its lasting impact across Halewood and the Liverpool City Region.”

The investment reflects Ford’s ongoing commitment to supporting the communities where it operates, helping local organisations build stronger futures and create opportunities for residents across the Liverpool City Region.

Previously Ford has supported Knowsley organisations including Torrington Drive Community Association (TDCA) in Halewood, Centre 63, Evolving Mindset CIC, Huyton Initiative 4 Youth Activities, Tailored Advice Services in Communities, The First Step Ltd and Vee’s Place.
