A team of Knowsley Youth Workers have taken on the Yorkshire Three Peaks to raise money for Knowsley’s Young Person’s Foodbank – and they would love you to show your support through their ‘Just Giving Page’ Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge – JustGiving
The foodbank, set up by Merseyside Youth Association (MYA) at Our Place in Huyton, is specifically for those under 30. It provides parcels to support young people across Knowsley. In addition to food, young people can access hygiene products and contraception, free of charge.
The MYA youth workers were joined on the challenge by local community partners from The Lee Cooper Foundation, Youth Focus Northwest, the Bill Shankly Football Academy – organisations they work closely with all year-round to ensure the best opportunities and outcomes for young people.
The 7-strong team completed the gruelling 24.3 mile walk over tough and steep terrain on Friday 5 May.

Lyn, who manages the foodbank and is delighted with the gesture, said:
“Thank you for supporting our project! There are a lot of young people living independently in Knowsley who are accessing the foodbank. They tell us is that they wouldn’t be able to eat some weeks without MYA’s Knowsley Young Person’s Foodbank. The cost-of-living crisis is having a huge impact on those who were already struggling, and they need our help!”
