First Foodie Friday a great success

More than 600 people came along to the first ever Foodie Friday event in Huyton Village Centre on Friday, 15 June.

Offering street food, craft ales and live music, the crowds were not disappointed with this family friendly event, which will be returning to Huyton Village on Friday, 20 July and Friday, 17 August 2018 from 4.30pm until 8pm.

A range of street food was available from Pizza Peddlers, SomTam Street, ArtiSam, Hungry Little Critters and Crepe Chateau, alongside local Huyton businesses including Bexleys Craft Butchers and The Body Branch. Entertainment was provided by local artists including performances from The Tafts, Lauren Martindale, Louise Bergquist and Owen Flemo. Children were also entertained too with Fabaroony face painters, locally donated punch balloons and a fairground ride.

Councillor Graham Morgan, Leader of Knowsley Council, said “I was delighted to see so many turn out and support this local event. Foodie Friday offered an opportunity for family, friends and work colleagues to come together and socialise. I hope that other businesses and residents support the other events in July and August and help to make this a hugely popular and regular event.”

Joe Barrett, Foodie Friday organiser, added “What an unbelievable night! I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along, the traders, the performers and the council for helping to organise this amazing event and help to bring the community together. I look forward to returning on 20 July and 17 August.”
