Find out what happens to your recycling

by Cathy Sheel

To mark Global Recycling Day on 18 March youngsters and community groups in Knowsley are being invited to find out more about what happens to their recycling.

Schools and community groups can book free, online ‘Recycling Live!’ sessions and go behind the scenes inside Veolia’s Recycling Materials Recovery Facility to see for themselves how recycled waste is treated once it leaves our bins.

As the centre is currently unable to welcome visitors, Veolia, which operates the Recycling Discovery Centre in Liverpool on behalf of Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority, has created virtual sessions for all ages.

From home or school, participants can join ‘Recycling Live!’, and learn about the journey of waste, what happens inside the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) and find the answers to any recycling questions.

Bookings can be made online at www.veolia.co.uk/merseyside-and-halton/RecyclingLive
