A drop in event for anyone interested to find out more about the improvements planned at Prescot Station took place last week.
The council has recently secured funding from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority to improve transport connectivity within Prescot town centre, making it an even more attractive place for people to visit, spend time and to support business investment.
The funding will contribute towards major upgrades to Prescot train station, including the installation of lifts on platforms, remodelling the station forecourt to create additional parking bays, a dedicated drop-off point together with improved signage and lighting. These improvements will provide step-free access to and from the station forecourt to the platforms and other station facilities resulting in the station being accessible to passengers and compliant with modern standards.
The station improvements are currently in development and are planned to begin in the spring/summer of 2020, and should be complete by autumn/winter of the same year.
