Over the last three months, Knowsley Council’s Fostering team, alongside the Foster 4 team, have been out and about across the borough to raise awareness of fostering for Knowsley.
In this time, the team has attended 35 community events including those hosted in supermarkets, hospitals, leisure centres, libraries, schools, church Christmas fayres and even the Knowsley Park Run.
But there’s still many more opportunities where you can meet the team as they plan their next phase of events in the new year including car boot sales and the Marvellous Markets that are currently touring the borough’s town centres.
Foster carers provide safe, stable and loving homes to children of all ages who, for a number of reasons, are not able to live with their own family.
Foster carers make a significant difference to the lives of children and young people in Knowsley, helping them to flourish and achieve their full potential.
Plus the council is also recruiting Specialist Foster Carers who provide support to children who have experienced trauma in their early years, have complex needs or had difficult childhood experiences.
Being a foster carer is a rewarding career, you could earn up to £1,000 a week, and training and support is provided.
Cllr David Lonergan, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said “I know from speaking to our foster carers that they love the job they do – supporting our children and young people to develop and grow. They are really making a difference to the lives of our children and they are doing a fantastic job.
“It’s really important that we have more foster carers who are able to offer safe and loving homes to give our children and young people the very support.
