Knowsley residents who are at the highest risk of getting seriously unwell from COVID-19 have until 30 June to access this spring’s vaccination via the NHS. Even if you have had a COVID-19 vaccination previously, you need another vaccination this spring to make sure you stay protected.
The groups of people who are being offered a COVID-19 vaccination this spring are:
- aged 75 years old or over, or
- living in a care home for older adults, or
- aged 6 months old or over and have a weakened immune system

If you haven’t yet made an appointment for your vaccination, you can do so via the National Booking System until 29 June.
Getting the COVID-19 vaccine is very convenient, with appointments available across Knowsley every day, usually at pharmacies, GP practices and the Living Well Bus.
If a grandparent, or someone else in your family, is at risk from COVID-19, make sure they have received their vaccination or make an appointment before the end of June.
Cllr Christine Bannon, Knowsley Council’s Cabinet Member for Health, said: “It is important that those eligible for the spring booster take up the offer.
“Vaccination offers the best possible protection from illness for those who are most at risk. It is quick, easy and free on the NHS and our local transport can support residents to attend their appointment.”
Booking an appointment
Making an appointment is easy. You can use the National Booking System or call 119 free of charge, where a translator is available if needed.
Getting to your appointment
Knowsley residents who may find it difficult to travel to their COVID-19 vaccination appointment can get support through the local travel offer.
Knowsley Council has worked in partnership with Healthwatch Knowsley to provide a taxi service for residents who do not have access to transport to get to a drop-in vaccination site or to a pre-booked appointment.
If you are a Knowsley resident, and you don’t have access to transport, you can call 0151 449 3954 (lines are open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm) and they will talk you through your options to get to your appointment or a drop in clinic close by to you.
This service is available for journeys to and from the closest vaccination site to you.
