Evelyn Community Primary School in Prescot is celebrating its Golden Anniversary this year.
The school first opened its doors on Tuesday 4th September 1973, with only 83 pupils and 3 teachers. Over the last 50 years, the school has gone from strength to strength and now has over 250 pupils on roll and 13 teachers.
A day of celebration took place on Friday 17th November, with past staff, pupils, governors and friends of the school invited. The day also included the grand opening of a new ‘Science Hub’ at the school.
Headteacher, Sandra Macleod said “The day was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our heritage, and we look forward to an exciting future.”
All children and guests were presented with a golden owl badge (the school’s emblem) in commemoration of this special event.
