El Pueblo opens its doors in Huyton

by Laura Johnston

Following the success of Mediterranean restaurant Eton Place in Huyton Village Centre, the owner has expanded to open a new restaurant in the heart of the village centre.

El Pueblo (a Spanish name which translates in English to “The Village”) occupies 64-66 on Derby Road and is located opposite Eton Place.  This new tapas and wine bar will also offer craft ales and gin.

The menu includes crisp skin on chicken cutlet, baked salmon fillet with lemon and dill oil, roasted chickpea and spinach cassoulet, shelled king prawns, spiced lamp meatballs and sweet and spicy chicken wings – to name just a few! There’s also banquets available for six or more people and a children’s menu including fish goujons, fish goujons and meatballs in tomato sauce.

El Pueblo is another welcome addition to Derby Road in Huyton Village Centre, following the opening of Eton Place and The Coffee House with plans also progressing well for Common (a cocktail bar and pizzeria which is transforming the former Natwest Bank).

El Pueblo owner, Turgut Olgun, said: “We’ve had a really successful year since opening Eton Place last year and it was clear that there was demand for food and drink outlets in Huyton. It was easy for me to make the decision to expand my offer here in the village centre – the welcome I’ve received from retailers, residents and shoppers has been fantastic and I look forward to welcoming more people into the Village Centre and offering them even more choice.”

Cllr Graham Morgan, Leader of Knowsley Council, added “I’m delighted that Turgut has expanded his food and drink offering here in Huyton.  El Pueblo will provide another cuisine catering for even more people to come into the Village Centre. I look forward to visiting his new establishment.”

El Pueblo opened on Saturday, 25 January 2020 and you can make a reservation by calling 0151 480 8702
