Knowsley’s local policing team were able to execute a warrant in the Dragon Drive area of Whiston thanks to intelligence gathered by Knowsley Council’s Crime and Communities Team.
Thanks to this information the police were able to conduct a warrant which resulted in the seizure of a number of expensive watches and approx. £ 1700 cash.
While at the property officers became aware of a strong smell of cannabis at a neighbouring property. Officers obtained a further warrant where 220 cannabis plants were found and seized.
Knowsley Community Policing Inspector, Peter Rexwinkel said: “This is a fantastic result and yet another clear example of the strong partnership we have with Knowsley Council’s Crime and Communities Team. We are an intelligence lead organisation, and this latest warrant clearly demonstrates how we act on information shared with us by the public.
“We understand there may be a reluctance to speak directly to the police but please rest assured, no matter who you share information with, it will be considered and where possible, acted on.”
Cllr Shelley Powell, Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods said:
“Tackling crime and antisocial behaviour is a key priority for Knowsley Council and the Crime and Communities Team are continuing to make a positive difference in our communities. This is yet another fantastic result and I hope further encourages residents to share information, giving them the confidence to speak up knowing that we will act on the information they share with us.”
