It’s the final week for children and young people across Knowsley to enjoy a range of FREE, fun, healthy activities this summer – make sure your children don’t miss out!
Thousands of free activity places have been made available as part of the Knowsley SNAP (Sport Nutrition Active Play) programme, which is funded by the Government’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) initiative.
Deputy Leader of Knowsley Council, Cllr Louise Harbour, recently visited an LFC Foundation football camp at Volair in Kirkby as part of the programme. Cllr Harbour said:
It’s clear to see how much the children have been enjoying the activities – and there’s been a great range of fun and engaging sessions on offer throughout the summer with more than 3,000 different children attending events so far.
“Importantly the varied programme has enabled children and young people across Knowsley to stay active and healthy over the holidays with free healthy food for eligible children and young people.”
Activities are taking in place in locations across the borough until Friday 27 August.
You can find out more about all the activities taking place, including how to book, on the SNAP website.
You can also take a look which activities are taking place near you on the interactive map.
Children and young people who are in receipt of means-tested free school meals are being particularly encouraged to attend the sessions, which include a free, healthy, nutritious meal.
