Juggling work, family life, and childcare can feel challenging at times. But when you know your child is happy, nurtured, and thriving in the care of dedicated professionals, everything feels a little easier.
If you’re an eligible working parent, you can get 30 hours childcare for your child from the term after they turn 9 months old up to school age.
The deadline to apply for your childcare code is 31 December 2025 to start using your childcare hours from 1 January 2026.
What you need to know:
- Check what support you could get: use the childcare support checker on the Best Start in Life website
- Speak to your childcare provider: check that they offer the hours and confirm their arrangements.
- Keep your code up to date: you’ll need to reconfirm your details every 3 months via your GOV.UK account. You’ll get a reminder when it’s time
