Discover how Knowsley’s Family Information Service website can help you

If you are looking for information on organisations and services offering advice and/or support for children and young people under 19, disabled children and young people under 25, their parents and carers, you can find it all in one place on the improved Family Information Service (FIS) website.

The new design is accessible and mobile friendly so you’ll find it convenient and straightforward to use whatever device you are using, whether it’s a smartphone, tablet or desktop.

What you can find on the FIS website:

Knowsley’s Local Offer – a local directory and one-stop-shop of information, support and advice available for children and young people with special educational needs and / or disabilities (SEND) up to 25 years old.

Working with parents the Local Offer area of the website has been improved and incorporates information videos and new information including post-16 learning/training as well as health and social care information plus funding, travel, housing, and play and leisure details.

As well as giving families more choice, Knowsley’s Local Offer provides parents with control over what support is right for your child.

It details eligibility criteria, how decisions are made, who makes them as well as encouraging feedback on the services provided and how you can become involved in service planning.

Knowsley Early Help –find out about the services that offer initial help and support for children, young people and their families. Help available includes debt and finance, health and wellbeing, crime and anti-social behaviour and parenting and family support.

Childcare and Early Education –  information about the Knowsley Childcare Information Service which offers information on childcare and early years education, information about free childcare for two to four year olds, and details about how you can get into a career in childcare. You can also search for the childcare options available to you in Knowsley.

Advice and Information –a range of advice and information including on local transport and housing, benefits, adoption/fostering, carers, child protection, internet safety and more.

Education, Employment and Learning – information about local schools and education services, and help available when you’re looking for employment or post-16 learning/training

Health, Wellbeing and Care –information on local health services, mental health support and care and support services including for bereavement and domestic abuse.

Play and Leisure – discover things to do and places to visit near you as well as activities suitable for young people with a disability or special educational needs.
