Help to tackle climate change

Woodland creation and management are key themes in both the council’s Climate Emergency Action Plan and the Net Zero Delivery Plan (2022-2025) which focuses on working in partnership with the Mersey Forest to develop new woodland planting schemes and updating the Woodland Management Plans for Knowsley’s existing woodland sites.

Cllr Shelley Powell, Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods said: “The Council is committed to increasing tree coverage throughout Knowsley. We recognise that tree planting and woodland creation initiatives will help the borough tackle climate change as well as bringing benefits to the health and wellbeing of our residents.”
