Knowsley Council has launched a procurement process for the borough’s £100M highways maintenance programme.
The Council is seeking contractors to deliver planned and reactive highways asset management projects, as well as highway capital investment schemes across Knowsley.
The Highways Term Service and Associated Professional Services contracts will last for an initial seven years with an optional three-year extension.

The procurement is split into three lots. The first lot is for highways maintenance and improvement works, valued at £90M. The second lot is for professional services, valued at £10M. The third lot if is a combination of the first two lots i.e. highway works and professional services.
Knowsley Council reserves the right to award the lots to one contractor under a single contract via the combined works and professional services lot or to two separate contractors under separate contracts i.e. one for highway works and one for professional services.
The closing date for parties interested in the Knowsley Council highways maintenance contract is Thursday 16 November.
The contract will commence in April 2025 and initially run until March 2032, under a negotiated procedure. The contract is not suitable for SMEs.
