Could you have a career in care?

by Laura Johnston

Have you ever considered a career in adult social care? That’s the question asked by a campaign encouraging people in Knowsley to apply for jobs caring for vulnerable adults.

The campaign, called ‘Every day is different when you work in social care’ calls on locals to find out about the many ways they can make a difference working in the care sector.

There are lots of jobs to suit every type of budding care professional, with many opportunities for on-the-job training and career progression.

Opportunities include working in a care home or extra care facility, becoming a carer with a home care agency or joining Knowsley Council’s Reablement Service.

Families who manage care budgets on behalf of their loved ones can also hire someone to provide care on an individual basis. So if you’re the sort of person who treats others with respect, listens to their needs, and is warm, understanding, kind and honest, then social care could be the job for you. It could also open the door to many new career opportunities.
