As a result of community intelligence gathered by Knowsley’s Crime and Communities Team, two warrants have been executed today in Huyton.
The crucial information shared by residents was used by Merseyside Police’s Targeted Team in Knowsley to carry out this disruptive action that demonstrates to residents the continued activity taking place in the borough to tackle issues of crime and anti-social behaviour head on.
This is the seventh and eighth warrant to be executed in Knowsley as a result of intelligence gathered by the Crime and Communities Team since it was established in September 2019.
The warrants were executed following information received around drug dealing at the properties which has given the Knowsley Targeted Team the opportunity to disrupt and deter criminal activity. Following the execution of the warrants, members of the Crime and Communities Team conducted their weekly Walkabout Wednesday in the area, providing reassurance and updating the community that action has been taken.
Inspector Jon Coote from the Knowsley Targeted Policing Team said: “These latest warrants further demonstrate the strength of our partnership with Knowsley’s Crime and Communities Team. It is our partnership working that allows us to gather crucial intelligence leading us to take robust action. I want to urge residents to continue to share this information – no matter how small –it may seem like a small piece of information but it helps us build a bigger picture of what is happening in our communities.”
Cllr Shelley Powell, Cabinet Member for Communities & Neighbourhoods said “I can never overemphasise enough the power and importance of our residents in helping us to create safer communities. Together we are able to take robust action against the small minority of people who are a blight on our neighbourhoods. A huge thank you to Knowsley’s local policing team and our Crime and Communities Team for continuing to keep our borough safe, investigate criminal activity and take action as demonstrated with today’s warrants.”
