Committee gather engagement views on climate issues

by Jonathan Kearney

Representatives from Knowsley’s business communities will be sharing their views with the borough’s Climate Emergency Scrutiny Committee this evening (24 November 2021).

The Committee is hearing the views of different sections of society to better understand how best to engage with them on climate issues.

Members of the Committee recently attended a meeting of the borough’s Youth Cabinet to gain their perspective on climate related issues.

A Climate Emergency Engagement Strategy is being developed by Knowsley Council to ensure key stakeholders within the borough are aware of and engaged in the work being carried out to reduce carbon emissions in the borough.

The Climate Emergency Scrutiny Committee was set up in 2020 to provide oversight, support and to challenge the work of the Council and its partners in meeting the Council’s commitment to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2040.

You can watch the next Climate Emergency Scrutiny Committee live online or watch again any time over the next six months.
