Cartbridge Lane clear-up

by Cathy Sheel

Council teams came together to carry out works to ensure the safety of road users at Cartbridge Lane in Halewood.

The works included the removal of diseased and dangerous trees and cutting down low hanging branches which could obstruct the view of motorists.

While these works were happening, the council’s street scene team and appointed highway contractor, Tarmac, undertook some general maintenance of the area, including cleaning the gullies, line marking and general cleansing works.

Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods, Cllr Shelley Powell who attended the clear up day said: “Cartbridge Lane is an important thoroughfare in an area with an abundance of trees and vegetation which could cause issues for road users. These improvement works will ensure that this area is safe and welcoming for all road users.”
