Cabinet receives Capital Programme update

Cabinet has tonight received an update on the Council’s Capital Programme for 2025/26 and future years.

The Council’s total Capital Programme for the next three years is £115.853m, of which £58.348m is scheduled to be spent in the current year.

The 2025/26 Capital Programme includes investment across the Borough on:-

  • Transport improvements (£19m)
  • The provision of new school places (£7.5m)
  • The disabled facilities grants (£4.5m)
  • Halewood Levelling Up Fund (£4.5m)
  • Support to prevent residents becoming homeless (£3.5m)

Cllr Jayne Lonergan, Cabinet Member for Resources, said:

“The significant level of planned capital expenditure demonstrates the Council’s continued commitment to investing in the future of the Borough.

“The importance of supporting the development of local jobs and local businesses is more important than ever, and the Council must continue to do all it can to support the Borough’s economy during difficult national economic conditions.”
