Independent Businesses in Prescot are taking part in the Totally Locally National Fiver Fest. From 5– 12 October shops, cafés, restaurants, pubs and businesses taking part will be putting on special £5 deals for the duration of the campaign.
Now In its second year, The Fiver Fest aims to encourage people to shop locally. Louise Gillespie, Owner of Jessie & Co said “We’re joining in with the Totally Locally Fiver Fest both to offer some great bargains for local shoppers, but also to showcase our town and the great shops and businesses we have here.
“Independent High Streets are the lifeblood of our towns and communities and if every adult in Prescot spent just £5 a week with their local independent shops and businesses instead of online or at the big supermarkets or chain stores it could mean almost £5.6m going directly into our local economy”.
The Fiver Fest is part of the award winning Totally Locally Town Kit – a completely free marketing campaign for towns to use which has been hugely successful in helping towns to buck the trend of declining high streets.
Cllr Tony Brennan, Cabinet Member from Regeneration an Economic Development said: “Fiver Fest is a fantastic example of how our local businesses are working better together, both for the benefit of each other and for our towns. I’d encourage anyone to come down to Prescot, during fiver fest and beyond and see what a vibrant local offer we have here.”
