Business in Knowsley that have been required to close due to the national lockdown, may now be able to apply for further financial help from the latest Government grant.

Up to £13,500 can be paid out to businesses such as non-essential retailers, hair and beauty salons, hospitality and leisure facilities.

In order to qualify, the business must have been registered for the payment of non-domestic rates at its premises on 5 January 2021, and have been forced to close due to the lockdown. Other qualifying criteria applies – more details are available on the Knowsley Council website.

Applications are open now – Knowsley businesses should apply through the council’s website.

Cllr Tony Brennan, Knowsley Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economy, said: “This third national lockdown is really tough on businesses, with many required to close their doors completely.

“To any business owner affected in this way, please take a look at the details of this latest grant scheme on our website and apply asap. We will be making payments to qualifying businesses as swiftly as possible to help support you.”
