In a welcome boost to the local economy, B&M has announced the launch of its new store in Huyton on Cavendish Walk, in the heart of Huyton Village Centre.

The discount retailer has taken possession of the former New Look and Poundland stores on Cavendish Walk and will undergo a comprehensive internal and external refurbishment programme before officially opening its doors at 9am on Saturday 7 May 2022. Once completed, it will occupy a 14,392 sq ft unit.

Customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded groceries for the best possible price including a range of food, drink and pet food. There will also be a fantastic selection of quality health and beauty products, homeware, cleaning, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games, seasonal gifts and products and plenty more to explore.

Cllr Tony Brennan Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, said: “I’m delighted that B&M will be opening in Huyton Village Centre. It is a popular addition to the retail offer in the village centre and I know residents will be really pleased to see the store return. In addition, it is bringing back into use two empty shop units which is great news for Huyton Village Centre.”

This latest announcement supports the Council’s ten-year development plans for Huyton Village Centre which has seen an array of new food and drink outlets opening over the last two years, more shop fronts benefitting from the shop front improvement scheme and an engaging events programme being delivered too.

A spokesperson from B&M said: “We’re feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”

“We are all really excited to get the doors open and welcome our new customers through the door.”

B&M will be the third operator to open in Huyton over the last 3 months, following Floga Greek restaurant and Solasta steakhouse, both on Derby Road.
