Associates of Cape Cod International expand into new 22’000 sq ft site

Associates of Cape Cod, Inc. (ACCI), a renowned global biotechnology company specialising in Bacterial Endotoxin and Glucan detection technologies, has chosen Academy Business Park in Kirkby as its new base of operations in the UK.

ACC has been a global leader in endotoxin & (1→3)-ß-D-glucan detection products and services for almost 50 years. Today, a ribbon cutting marked the official opening of their new 22,000sqft site – attended by local councillors, members from Invest Knowsley and the President & CEO from the global headquarters located in Massachusetts.

The new state- of-the-art facility includes; offices, contract testing laboratory and a purpose-built production area manufacturing test tubes and consumables for the pharmaceutical and medical device industries.  A modern warehouse will enable ACCI to supply products direct to UK customers and their global network of distributors.

Anna Owens, UK General Manager said, “Our new facility at Academy Business Park will enable Associates of Cape Cod Int., Inc. to grow and expand our operations within the UK. The facility enables us to maximise efficiencies and continually improve our processes so that we provide quality products and excellent support to all our customers worldwide.”

Councillor Tony Brennan, Knowsley Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, added “I’m delighted that Associates of Cape Cod, International has chosen to stay in Knowsley and expand its established business.

“This decision is a real indication that Knowsley is an ideal base for global businesses such as Associates Of Cape Cod International to grow and create further high value employment opportunities in the life sciences sector.
