Apprenticeship vacancies go live in Knowsley

by Jonathan Kearney

Over 80 apprenticeship vacancies have gone live today (Friday 10 June) as part of the Knowsley Apprentice programme.

Opportunities in trades, beauty, education and the leisure industry are among those available to applicants.

Many young people may have left full time education this year or be out of employment and be thinking about what to do next.

The apprenticeships enable young people to train to NVQ Level 3 while earning a living. Apprentices also have the opportunity to secure a permanent position at the end of the placement.

The majority of vacancies close on 15 July 2022, although you should check the individual roles for details.

Grants of £4,500 are available for businesses to hire an apprentice from Knowsley. The grants can only be accessed when hiring an apprentice from Knowsley.

Interviews for the vacancies will take place in August before the apprentices begin their new roles in September 2022.

Cllr Tony Brennan, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, said: “Our Knowsley Apprentice programme offers a great opportunity for young people who are taking their first step on the employment ladder.

“You can earn whilst you learn and hopefully it will lead to employment at the end of the apprenticeship.

“There’s a vast array of opportunities on offer in Knowsley – take a look at the vacancies currently available on the council’s website.”
