Knowsley based Applied Nutrition, the UK’s fastest-growing sports and active nutrition company has officially opened its new 45,000 sq ft warehouse and distribution centre.

The company has grown from selling one single product from a small shop in Kirkby just eight years ago to now offering over 100 different products and selling to 65 countries across the world from its bespoke production facility on Knowsley Business Park.

Mayor of Knowsley, Cllr Eddie Connor, was invited to officially cut the ribbon at the new premises and was accompanied by Steve Rotheram, the Major of the Liverpool City Region and Cllr Graham Morgan, Leader of Knowsley Council.  The guests were also given a tour of the new warehousing and distribution centre, as well as its manufacturing facilities and head office which is the company’s base for its global operations.

Cllr Graham Morgan said: “I was delighted to meet with Thomas and his team at Applied Nutrition. It’s wonderful to see this new facility and amazing to hear how the business has grown so rapidly– from a small shop in Kirkby to this huge business which is now selling products across the world. Thomas’s story really is a great example of dedication and passion leading to such a successful business journey.

“I’m delighted that the council has been able to support Thomas and his business over the years. “

Thomas Ryder, Managing Director at Applied Nutrition said: “It was an absolute pleasure to welcome the Mayor of Knowsley our guests from Knowsley Council and the Metro Mayor yesterday and give them an insight into what we do here at Applied Nutrition.

Knowsley Council has been a huge support to us, offering advice and guidance since we began trading and it’s fantastic that we have a local authority that supports and encourages enterprise, investment and growth.”
