Today marks the 37th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster. A tragedy that took the lives of 97 men, women, and children and impacted the lives of many more.
To mark the anniversary, the Union Flags outside of Huyton Municipal Building and the Kirkby Centre will be flying at half-mast, and this evening the Greystone Bridge will be lit in red in memory of those lives lost.
A minute’s silence will be observed by Council staff at 15.06 – the exact time 37 years ago that the match was halted.
Our thoughts go to all those impacted by the disaster.
