Twenty-four local businesses have joined forces to launch the Knowsley Wellbeing & Nature Alliance – a coordinated, year-long commitment to improving health, wellbeing and access to green space in Knowsley.
The Alliance will fund a structured programme of activity delivered by grow CIC at Bowring Park, transforming collective business investment into measurable social impact. Activities will include community gardening, guided wellbeing walks, forest schools and nature-based engagement designed to increase physical activity, strengthen community connection and improve access to high-quality green space.
The coalition brings together contractors, consultants and infrastructure specialists from across the region, including the likes of Morgan Sindall, MJ Quinn, Alumasc Roofing, Summit Marine Scaffolding, CABA Brickwork and Ridge Built Environment Consultancy. Demonstrating a cross-sector commitment to Knowsley’s future.
Knowsley remains one of the most economically challenged boroughs in England, with longstanding health inequalities and lower-than-average levels of physical activity. Research consistently shows that well-managed green space can improve mental wellbeing, reduce social isolation and support healthier lifestyles – particularly in areas facing deprivation.

By anchoring activity at Bowring Park, the Alliance channels business support into a key local asset, creating visible, structured and measurable outcomes for the community.
Unlike one-off sponsorships or isolated volunteering initiatives, the Alliance operates through a co-ordinated delivery plan, which grow CIC will design, deliver and measure throughout the year. This provides participating businesses with verified social value credits and impact reporting aligned to procurement and ESG requirements.
Members will receive regular progress updates, a six-month impact review and a full annual report detailing social value generated, attendance figures and community outcomes.
Matt Bell, Director of grow CIC, said: “Bringing 24 businesses together around a shared commitment to Knowsley sends a powerful message. This Alliance is about turning good intentions into structured, measurable impact at Bowring Park.
“We know that sustained investment in green space and physical activity can improve health, strengthen community connection and reduce isolation. By aligning business support behind a clear delivery plan, we’re creating long-term change – not just activity for activity’s sake.
“Every pound invested will translate into real outcomes for local residents and verified social value for the businesses involved. This is co-ordinated commitment – and it’s only the beginning.”
Morgan Sindall were instrumental in bringing the alliance together, with many of those involved being part of their supply chain. Their Senior Social Value Manager, Gill Roberts, said: “We’re incredibly proud of the business that have joined the alliance and the fact we’re putting back into Knowsley. We’re all excited about the impact we can make together.
“The Alliance levels the playing field, giving smaller businesses the structure and support to deliver meaningful, measurable impact in Knowsley – without needing a dedicated social value department.”
