Knowsley residents in receipt of certain disability benefits will start receiving a £150 cost of living payment as part of the Department for Work and Pensions Help for Households.
More than six million disabled people across the UK are eligible and payments will be made automatically over the next weeks (20 June-4 July).
Payments will be made by the Department for Work and Pensions.
The full list of benefit recipients that qualify for the Disability Cost of Living Payment between 20 June and 4 July are those who receive any of the following as of 1 April 2023:
- Disability Living Allowance
- Personal Independence Payment
- Attendance Allowance
- Scottish Disability Benefits (Adult Disability Payment and Child Disability Payment)
- Armed Forces Independence Payment
- Constant Attendance Allowance
- War Pension Mobility Supplement
A small number of payments will be made after 4 July, where claimants were still awaiting confirmation of their eligibility or entitlement to qualifying disability benefits on 1 April.
This new payment is in addition to the £150 Disability Cost of Living Payment that was paid last September. Pensioners will also receive a further £300 payment later this year and people on eligible means-tested benefits will be paid up to two more Cost of Living payments through to next Spring totalling £900.

Cllr Del Arnall, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care, said: “The cost-of-living crisis is hitting some of our most vulnerable residents the hardest, with those living with a disability already spending more on energy, food and medicine.
“Any additional funds to support disabled residents is welcome. However, the amount being paid by central Government will not stretch far enough.
“The Council’s Adult Social Care and Children’s Services teams continue to work with residents to provide bespoke support aligned to individual needs. I would urge any resident who is need of further support to contact the Knowsley Cost of Living helpline on 0151 443 3300 (Mon-Friday 9am-5pm).”
